2017 Crystal Ball Honoree - Karon Henderson
Karon Henderson is a native of Columbus, GA. She graduated from Baker High School, Columbus
Vo-Tech and attended Columbus State University (Columbus College). She is the daughter of Bob and Sherrell (Lansdon) Bennett. She and her husband of 33 years, Skip Henderson have two wonderful children, Kyle (daughter), Cole (son-in-law) and Joey (son). Karon has been employed by Georgia Power Company for 39 years and is currently a Key Account Manager for large industrial and commercial businesses.
Karon currently serves on the board of Keep Columbus Beautiful Commission, the Keep Georgia Beautiful Commission and a member of Citizens of Georgia Power Company. She and Skip have been members of St. Paul UMC for 26 years. She has worked on the administrative Board, the Committee on Ministries and is currently serves on the Staff Parish committee.
After two biopsies, Karon was diagnosed with Breast Cancer/DCIS in May 2015. She had a double-mastectomy and breast reconstruction, all of which took four surgeries.
